AOET~Uganda equips widows with the skills to enable them to be self-supporting in caring for themselves and their children.
Tailoring and African Arts and Crafts
AOET teaches widows tailoring skills and trains them to make African arts and crafts. As widows near completion of their training, the clothes and arts and crafts they have made are sold.
African shirts, shorts and dresses are made. African arts and crafts include table mats from natural banana fiber, batiks (drawing on fabric with wax), hats and other items.
Groups of widows are provided with additional training for operating a small business. They take a loan for initial expenses and are provided with sewing machines or crafts kits. These widows start a small business as a team and also partner together for the care of their children. These are successful ventures and these widows are excited that they can still make valuable contributions to their community.

The basics of Windows are taught and followed by Microsoft Office applications. Individual advanced study in operating systems, Office applications and programming are available.
